QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

Why are lessons online?

An electronic whiteboard lets teachers present solutions clearly, highlight key ideas and save lesson notes. Students can follow the explanation without struggling to read a classroom board.

There is no need to spend lesson time copying long rules, formulas and theory. The material remains on the whiteboard during the lesson and can be saved afterwards. Students can copy useful notes into a notebook later, without interrupting the explanation.

Materials and assignments can be organised by topic and found quickly when students need to revisit an idea.

Online lessons also save travel time. This is especially helpful for students with busy school schedules or those living in another city. The time saved can be used to rest and arrive at the lesson more focused.

Teachers can use presentations, graphs, interactive materials, international and Uzbek textbooks, and share files during the lesson.

Results depend primarily on the quality of teaching and the student's own work. With interest and regular practice, online lessons provide the tools needed for thorough preparation.

How often do individual lessons take place?

The frequency of individual lessons is chosen according to the student's level and goal. Regular days and times are agreed in advance so that they work for both the student and the teacher.

Which language are lessons taught in?

You can choose lessons with explanations in Russian or lessons taught entirely in English.

Lessons explained in Russian can also use English materials, exercises and terminology where needed, for example for SAT preparation or future study in English. We agree on the language before lessons begin; fees depend on the option chosen.

What happens in a trial lesson?

A trial is a full individual lesson. The teacher explains the material, demonstrates an approach to solving problems, and then the student practises.

This helps the student decide whether the teacher, format and approach suit them. The lesson takes place on Zoom and lasts 60 minutes. The teacher may allow up to 10 extra minutes to finish an explanation.

Before the trial, you can take a free mathematics or physics assessment directly on this website. The trial itself is paid separately at 50% off the package per-lesson rate. After the assessment and lesson, we discuss the programme and an approximate timeline.

How do you assess a student's starting level?

Both free assessments are available directly on this website: 30 questions in mathematics and 32 in physics. The results help the teacher identify the student's current level and main knowledge gaps.

Please let your child complete it independently so the results show what they already know and where to start. We also consider their grade, goal and previous preparation.

The teacher uses this information to choose a programme. You can then discuss the plan and approximate timeline with the organiser.

How can parents find out about their child's progress?

Parents can contact the school organiser whenever they want to know about their child's progress. We will consult the teacher and answer their questions.

The school also periodically updates parents on the student's progress and results.

Where will students find materials after a lesson?

After each lesson, the teacher will upload the necessary materials to the student's account, accessible directly from this website. Student accounts are being prepared for launch.

The student receives all theory and practice files, as well as the file from each lesson. These materials are theirs to keep permanently.

Can students record lessons?

Lessons are not recorded. Students are also not permitted to record lessons.

The student receives all theory and practice files, as well as the file from each lesson. These materials are theirs to keep permanently.

Can I change teachers?

Yes, if we can find another teacher and a time that suits you both. Contact the school organiser.

How can I cancel or reschedule a lesson?

Notify the school organiser at least 24 hours before the lesson to reschedule. It can be moved to another day in the same week at a time agreed with the teacher.

A cancellation with less than 24 hours' notice or a no-show counts as a completed lesson and is deducted from the paid lessons.

After more than three missed lessons, make-up lessons are not provided and your timetable slot is no longer reserved. You can resume under the rules for returning after a break.

What happens during a break or if a lesson is disrupted?

Plan breaks after completing your paid package. Going away, even temporarily, counts as stopping regular lessons: your teacher's timetable slot will not be reserved during your absence.

Remaining paid lessons can be moved. When you return, you can continue with your previous teacher if they have availability. Otherwise, the school will offer another teacher.

If a lesson is disrupted for a reason on the student's side, it counts as completed and is deducted. If the disruption is on the teacher's side, the remaining untaught time is rescheduled and made up in agreement with the school.

What happens if the teacher or student is late?

The school monitors teacher punctuality. If a teacher is late, they make up all missed time by extending that lesson, if convenient for you, or the next one. For example, being 15 minutes late means the next one-hour lesson will last 75 minutes.

If the student is late, the missed time counts as taught. The lesson ends at the scheduled time and is not extended.

How are lessons paid for?

Payment is made by transfer to the school organiser's card. Teachers do not accept payments or send bank details. If anyone asks you to use another card, do not transfer the money and tell the organiser immediately. Transfers to other details do not count as payment to the school.

The trial is paid for separately. Further individual lessons are paid in advance: a package before its first lesson, and a single lesson before it begins. Please pay at least two hours before the lesson. If you cannot, notify the organiser before that deadline.

Lessons do not take place until payment is received. Repeated delays may result in the school stopping future bookings. Fees and terms are agreed before learning begins.

Can students start from scratch or with major knowledge gaps?

Yes. If a student has a weak foundation or significant gaps, the teacher designs the programme around that starting level.

We first rebuild essential skills, then gradually move towards more advanced topics and the student's goal: schoolwork, exams, certification or admission.

Strong prior preparation is not a requirement for starting lessons.

Do you guarantee results?

The school provides a preparation programme, explanations, practice, homework, marking, answers to questions and feedback.

A specific score, certificate or admission cannot be guaranteed. Results also depend on the student's starting level, attendance and independent work.

If students skip homework, copy solutions or rarely practise independently, strong results are difficult to achieve. Regular problem-solving practice is especially important in mathematics and physics.

If progress stalls because of insufficient work, the teacher first discusses it with the student. If the situation does not improve, the organiser contacts the parents to discuss what needs to change.

What does a student need to do to achieve good results?

Regular practice and a personal commitment to the goal come first.

Students should attend lessons, complete homework independently, avoid copying solutions, review their mistakes and ask questions when something is unclear.

A specific goal is helpful: admission to a chosen institution, a strong exam score, the National Certificate, or a substantial improvement in subject knowledge.

The teacher provides a programme, materials, explanations and support. Progress comes from consistent work together.
